And as if that wasn’t enough they gave some to those who needed it.

This year Denmark has produced so much electricity from renewable sources that it has managed to sell it to its neighbours, giving a big hand to the whole European continent with the aim to reduce to zero CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. The fact, nothing short of remarkable, took place in a particularly windy day for Scandinavia (Thursday, 9 July), when Denmark was able to produce 116% of national electricity needs thanks to the wind, the wind energy. At night, when energy demand of the Danes declined further, as much as 140% was touched. So the country was able to sell the surplus to Germany, Norway and Sweden, also thanks to an efficient connection and distribution electricity system. “This shows that a world fed 100% by renewable energy is not fantasy”, said Joy Oliver, spokesman for the European wind energy association. The Danish operator Energinet has even announced that wind farms in the country had not even reached their maximum production, totalling an installed capacity of 4.8 gigawatts (GW). All this shows that an increase in the number of wind farms as well as photovoltaic plants could bring Denmark to cover half of its energy needs with renewable sources only well before 2020, the year that Copenhagen has set as a deadline.

The first word we encounter is “lighting”. A great start then; the first image is instead of Lorenzo who searches the darkness with two flashlights like with binoculars. Light and dark are in conflict all the time: the darkness seems to prevail, it insists, it is rampant. But then there are light beams that strike a detail and take it to the front. Light doesn’t always necessarily wins, which, incidentally, with no darkness won’t be emphasized so strongly in the metaphor of the absolute positive. Light is good, darkness no. It ‘s true, at night everything seems more vivid (only apparent contradiction): feelings are more intense, dreams almost real, thoughts heavier. The non-light urges us to revise every event from another point of view, sometimes even making complex simple things. So it’s nice that the author of “Io penso positivo” wanted the shadows and darkness with him, even though just to show that he can overcome them, or at least handle. In short, an unconventional interview, where the words are accompanied by images and movement. The covered themes are important: love, friendship, life, fear, creativity, religion. Many aspects of a personality that could be joined in one word, mainly: energy. Why is undeniable, Lorenzo Cherubini Jovanotti has energy in spades, and light, too. It’s a great excuse to celebrate the source of the universal life with songs, dances, bonfires and – for those who are able – with propitiatory and magic rituals.
All civilizations before us, since the dawn of the time, have paid homage to the divinity that is in contrast with the evil force of darkness: from African people to the Asian population, from Incas to Inuit, from Maia to American Indians, not forgetting of course the Sumerians, the Babylonians and the Egyptians. Each of these civilizations have identified a name, a picture, a ritual; and often traditions got mixed, like in the “passage” of the pagan gods from the Greek empire to the Roman one. Today, if you do a quick search on the net, you will see that in many areas of Italy many celebrations of pagan origin could come unscathed through the Church’s attempts to eliminate them from the popular traditions. Or they have been transposed into Christian celebrations, as it happened to the feast of St. John the Baptist (which falls precisely on the night between 23 and 24 June), or to Christmas, which is the day when the sun begins again its evolution after the winter solstice. So here are some suggestions to help you enjoy to the best your solstice:
